Covenant Ghost
ghost2.jpg
Marines often use Ghosts if you don't get there quick enough.lol.They also may "steal" from you.

haloghost2.jpg

goodbyeghost.jpg
If you're a good shot, use a RL against a Ghost-it destroys it in one hit.

DESCRIPTION:The Ghost is the Covenant's rapid attack and standard reconaissance vehicle. It can strafe and move around very quickly, but provides barely any protection for the driver. It weighs 3.25 tons.
WEAPONS:The Ghost fires two standard light vehicle-mounted weapons:a directed energy weapon which fires a stream of super-heated plasma bolts in the 100-250kW range.
PROS:It is incredibly fast and its strafing ability is very useful.Circle strafing can be a very useful tactic with the Ghost. Its plasma cannons also stun whatever it hits, so you can stun then run over your enemy. It is small and can avoid big guns, like Fuel Rod Cannons from Hunters say, easily. It has unlimited ammo.
CONS:It is small and gives only a tiny bit of protection to the driver.Even small arms fire can destroy it pretty quickly. It also may be a little slow to respond, leaving it vulnerable to attack.
TIPS:Use it to circle strafe foes, or run them over. Against tanks and Warthogs, you can stun their guns and make them virtually useless while you zip around laughing.Pressing A will make the Ghost's nose point upward, meaning you can launch off of different things, from the Scorpion's turret to big hills. Here are tips for fighting against vehicles with the Ghost:
Warthog:Freeze the gun.
Scorpion:Freeze the gun.
Ghost:This is gonna be a strafing battle. Its interesting when you watch or play a Ghost versus Ghost match.Whoever wins will be the one who keeps firing and strafing.
Wraith:In the single player missions, you will come across a Wraith Tank equipped with an energy mortar. If you keep on circle strafing and firing, you should gain the advantage, but if that mortar hits you, it will most likely damage you greatly and flip you over, so watch out.
HOW TO BEAT IT:Pretty much any weapon(except the Sniper Rifle) can take out the Ghost pretty quickly.Just don't let it ram you.Use Plasma Grenades a lot.If it sticks to the Ghost, it's game over.If you can knock out or kill the pilot, you can steal the Ghost yourself. However, this is hard to do, so you might as well wait until the game just gives you one. The A.I. in Halo isn't too smart as a Ghost-the Elites piloting a Ghost never strafe very much, leaving them open for an easy Rocket Launcher attack-one hit and the Ghost explodes. However, with hard work, you can circle strafe and hopefully kill the driver, but this is hard to do and you may get run over.If you are in another vehicle, try these tips:
Warthog:Keep firing away, but if your gun is frozen, its game over.
Scorpion:Same as above, but try to lead your target a little with the cannon.
Ghost:see TIPS.

Covenant Banshee

Covenant Banshee soaring above the ground.

bansheeexplosion.jpg
I've got plenty of pictures like these. I love blowing up Banshees.

bansheevsbanshee.jpg
Another awesome pic of a Banshee(hopefully piloted by MC) bringing down another Banshee-fun to do.

banshee1132.jpg
Interesting Banshee pic. Shows it pretty well.

bansheegonebypistol.jpg
Bringing down a Banshee with a Pistol is satisfying and not too hard-Use the scope and fire a lot.

halobansheenice.jpg
Older pic of Banshee but still accurately looks like what it does today.

Bringing down a Banshee with the Assault Rifle.

halobanshee.jpg
Good Banshee shot.

halobansheenice2.jpg
Another good Banshee shot.

halofireatbanshee.jpg
Firing with the Warthog at a Banshee; in the level Halo after rescuing the first Marines.

banshee.jpg
Banshee in the eighth level, Two Betrayals.

DESCRIPTION:The Banshee is the Covenant's standard ground assault aircraft. It is very fast, easily maneuverable, and capable of hovering above the ground. It has two weapon pods mounted to either side of the fuselage.Small arms fire will rarely destroy the Banshee, but can disrupt the pilot. The Banshee weighs 2.25 tons.Press A to make the Banshee fall straight down from whatever position you are in the air.
WEAPONS:Light plasma cannon(Ghost's) and Fuel Rod Cannon(Hunter's).
PROS:Only flying vehicle at your disposal, and can fly very high into the air.Its hovering ability is very useful(see TIPS).It is also fast and can make quick turns. Its two weapons are both pretty deadly, especially the Fuel Rod Cannon.Use this powerful weapon on enemy vehicles and large groups of ground troops. It can also kill by running over, but may scrape the ground, which won't damage the Banshee, but may disrupt the pilot a little bit.The Banshee also has unlimited ammo.
CONS:A little sluggish, and although it can turn quickly, it can still take a lot of damage, especially the time when you get in the Banshee and lift off, you'll probably take a lot of damage in heavily guarded areas.
TIPS:Fly high to avoid enemy fire, then fly back down, stopping in midair and hovering to pick off enemies from a safe distance(hold back Left Thumbstick to hover).Use the Fuel Rod Cannon as much as you can, but keep firing the plasma cannons.Remember it has to recharge so be aware of any enemies that may try to take advantage of this. The Banshee isn't available in multiplayer, but in the single player missions you do get some chances to blow away other Covenant forces:
Ghost:They never fire at you when their in a Ghost, so do what you have to.Usually all you have to do is fire your Fuel Rod Cannon and it will kill them in one hit.
Banshee:keep firing your plasma cannon and if they come under you, fire your Fuel Rod Cannnon. As long as you can get behind them, you'll be fine, and even if you don't, use sharp turns and fire rapidly to gain the victory.
Wraith:If you fly high enough, the Wraith's energy mortar shouldn't hit you, but if you do get grazed, you can take some serious damage.Focus on the Wraith, using the Fuel Rod Cannon as much as possible, but keep on firing the plasma cannons.
HOW TO BEAT IT:Plasma weapons are tempting to use against Banshees, but rarely hit them as they are relatively slow.If you ever use them, lead your target, but its better to use the Assault Rifle or Rocket Launcher(lead your target or aim at the Banshee when it fires at you, the time when its nearly above your head) for easier, quicker kills. Also, be aware when you destroy a Banshee, as it may fall on you and kill you, which is embarrasing.Don't let this happen; sidestep after you've killed a Banshee.Since the Banshee is not available in multiplayer, there will be no tips included on how to beat it with vehicles.

Covenant "Wraith"Mortar Tank
halowraithtank.jpg
An early picture of the Wraith, still looks the same in the game though.

halowraith.jpg
Nice pic of a Wraith Tank I believe was taken from an E3 video.

wraithtankmortar.jpg
The infamous energy mortar of the Wraith Tank.

halowraith2.jpg
This is a good way to deal with a Wraith-scope with the RL, shoot twice, and goodbye Wraith.

DESCRIPTION:The "Wraith" energy mortar tank is a thickly armored, bulbous, and slow.It can slowly strafe, but the Warthog or Ghost easily outrun it.
WEAPONS:Energy Mortar.
HOW TO BEAT IT:The Wraith's energy mortar is very powerful, capable of taking you out in a few hits.It is non-homing(luckily)but if it hits you, or hits the general area you're standing, you'll take damage. The blast radius of the mortar is pretty big too, but its accuracy from long range isn't very good.If you're far away, it usually lobs rather inaccurate shots at you, but don't stand there;it will eventually make it.The Wraith's mortar takes a while to reload, meaning you can tackle other enemies, pick up items, or attack it.The Rocket Launcher is deadly against the Wraith, taking only a few hits before it explodes. If you don't have it, jump in a Ghost or Banshee.Sometimes the Wraiths will strafe, dodging your precious rockets. If the Wraith seems to be strafing a lot, lead your target. However, if you are a daredevil, you can charge the tank and jump on it.A small "door" will open, allowing you to throw in a welcoming Grenade. Also, the Wraith won't fire at point blank range. All in all, heavy weapons are the best to use against the Wraith.

Covenant Dropship
covdropship2.jpg
Covenant's Dropship.Very pretty.

DESCRIPTION:The Covenant's version of a dropship is capable of dropping eight enemy units without touching the ground. Its energy shielding is so powerful not even several shots from a Scorpion's cannon can penetrate it.If you fire at the dropship, it will fire back.
WEAPONS:Dual laser cannons similar to the Shade Gun's which can take out your shields and health quickly.
HOW TO BEAT IT:You can't really beat it, but be aware of its laser cannons, as they can damage you quickly. You can tell when a dropship is going to land, as it hovers above the ground before setting down. Use a Sniper Rifle, Pistol, or Rocket Launcher to snipe the enemies off when the flaps open on either side of the dropship.Or throw a Grenade. This can be helpful, and you can take out a lot of Covenant troops before they even land. Also, the laser cannons are easy to dodge, but if you get hit, your shields will go down pretty quickly. If you have a Sniper Rifle, aim at the dropship when it is landing(starting to hover above the ground). If your targeting crosshair turns red, fire. Hopefully, whoever you hit will fall to their death from the dropship before it even lands. Sometimes you may miss, so it won't happen all the time, but if your aim and reflexes are good, you can hit them. It's satisfying and funny to see an Elite falling from a dropship. Also, on another funny note, occasionally Elites or Grunts will try to get back in dropships if you kill a lot of their companions. It's funny watching a Grunt get dumped back onto the ground, staring into your Assault Rifle.
In Level 2, Halo, in the second lifeboat(on the hills, not the rocks, where you can pick up ammo for the Sniper Rifle next to the dead guy, watch the Covenant dropship leave after it drops of its troops; it crashes into the wall and then leaves. It must be a glitch, but it's darn funny to watch.
