Covenant versus Flood:Who's better?Contact me, including a nickname and a reason who you think is better, and I will post it(remember to tell me not to post if you don't want it here).

AuZie88-The Covenant is a more dominant species.Their technology,vehicles,weapons,and numbers make them far more lethal.The Flood has large numbers and attacks in waves and doesn't seem to stop coming.It's a close match, but I'd still say the Covenant is better. However,the Flood usually wins Covenant vs. Food Battles, the reason often being the Covenant runs away in fear instead of trying to fight(except a few brave ones), until they get killed, even if its their own Battle Cruiser..(see Level 9,Keyes).The Flood has huge numbers, but their still not as advanced.The Covenant's ranks are much superior.

 

First of all, we humans are weak against our own stuff, aren't we? I mean, a
single bullet penetrates anything
we haven't covered in metal. And even metal is easiest to shred with projectile
weapons, rather than just
warming it up with plasma.

So, why shouldn't the Covenant be like humans, when they have so many other
similariries? Of course, their
technology is a bit more advanced than ours. But then again, it seems all of
their technology is based around
the same basic. Plasma shields, plasma weapons, plasma grenades, I'm sure even
their vehicles have plasma
engines or similar. And just like the bullet + metal theory, it does make sense
that a shield made out of plasma
should be weak against a bullet made out of plasma. Right? Of course, there's no
proof that their shields ARE
plasma driven, but as I said, races tend to base all their stuff around the same
basics, so I'm sure there's a
connection.

Another thing; What drove the Covenant species to start inventing powerful
energy weapons? There has to be
some war in their history before humans. Most likely Covenant against Covenant,
just like we humans tend to
kick each other for egoistic reasons. If so, then it might be so that one of
their most low-tech weapons is the
Needler, as it's projectile based... Let's assume they started out with
projectiles, just like humans did, and a
war broke out. Of course, the other side invented some sort of technology to
reflect the projectiles. The
energy shield. The energy shield technology was researched further, and ended up
as an even more powerful,
non-projectile energy weapon. The plasma guns.

Ah, I don't know, but I see no reason to question why the Covenant can't take
their own weapons. There are a
lot of explanations to that question. To me, it's just logical. Keep up the good
job with the site! And do keep to
exploit Halo's engine to do stuff you aren't supposed to!
